## Our story

We’ve been in your shoes. That’s why we built Ternary.

Our team has operated massive Hadoop clusters, migrated enterprise workloads across Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure, and faced the pressure of unpredictable cloud spend.

We took that experience and built a FinOps platform designed for clarity, speed, and impact. Ternary gives Finance, Engineering, and FinOps teams the shared insights they need to make better decisions, together.

## Our journey

May 2020

Ternary was founded to transform the cloud cost management space. We adopted FinOps from the very start.

December 2020

Ternary closed pre-seed funding and began building the first FinOps platform built on GCP, for GCP.

February 2021

Ternary launched its SaaS platform in February 2021, focused on GCP visibility and optimization.

December 2021

Ternary closed seed funding.

June 2022

Ternary expanded cloud support to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

August 2022

Ternary introduced a self-hosted deployment option for the platform.

September 2022

Ternary expanded cloud support to Microsoft Azure.

July 2023

Ternary expanded cloud support to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Alibaba Cloud.

October 2023

Ternary landed Series A funding.

April 2024

Ternary unveiled its new partner program for Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

February 2025

Ternary announced that it tripled its partner ecosystem.

March 2025

Ternary launched a new FinOps solution for Public Sector organizations.

December 2025

Ternary released Bring Your Own Data for technology spend management.
